our STORY

Leah and Kaydin

Hi there, I'm Leah! Born and raised in Huntington Beach, California, I picked up my first skateboard at 14 and it was love at first drop-in. Skateboarding has been my passion ever since and when my son Kaydin hopped on a board at age five and took off like a natural, I knew he’d caught the bug too. But here’s the problem I quickly discovered: all of the skateboards on the market weren't exactly kid-friendly. Traditional decks are oversized, thick, heavy, and very difficult for little skaters to control. So in 2019 I decided to change the game. That’s how Mini Ripperz was born — a line of boards specifically designed for the next generation of shredders!

Since our humble beginnings, Mini Ripperz has expanded to provide kids across the world with premium skateboards designed just for them. Today, you'll see our decks ridden by kids spanning from the earliest beginners to those competing at the highest level. We've helped inspire thousands of kids find their passion in skateboarding; I hope we can inspire yours too!

Mini Ripperz Performance Advantage

OUR TECHNOLOGY

Equipment that is correctly sized to the athlete is critical for the best performance. Our boards are made from the same quality materials as the big brands, but are both lighter and precision sized for young riders, ensuring that they learn to ride and progress faster, gain confidence quickly, and most importantly, have more fun. â€‹

Many parents believe that a bigger skateboard will help their kids learn to balance better, but this opposite is true. It’s crucial for young skaters to start with a smaller deck to develop proper balance and technique. Larger boards force kids to an overly wide stance and inefficient movement as their bodies work harder to maneuver . Starting with a smaller deck encourages proper skill development and balance from the beginning!
